How To Get Rid of Your Red Face

The skin condition known as rosacea, or acne rosacea, is a commonplace but little-known disorder of the facial skin.  Its acne-like symptoms can include rosey red blush-looking facial skin, especially the cheeks.  So, how do you get rid of your red face once and for all?  The answer is far from simple.

First off, rosacea has no known cure at this time.  However, researchers continue their efforts to determine the underlying cause of rosacea, with progress being made on a number of different fronts.  The good news is that medications are available that will help you control the symptoms and help keep your rosacea in remission.

Another effective way to control symptoms (including your red face) is to identify those factors that cause your skin condition to flare up.  These factors can be food based or environmental and are referred to as "triggers".   Each individual can have a varied number  of triggers making rosacea a more difficult disorder to control.  Maintaining a diary of events immediately preceding your flare-ups can help you identify your particular triggers.  By avoiding these factors, you can help reduce your symptoms.

So, it is a combination of rosacea treatment and avoidance of your rosacea triggers that will prove to be the most effective approach for reducing not only your red face, but minimize the occurrence and severity of flare-ups.

This widespread skin disorder inflicts slightly more than fourteen million Americans every year. What is hard to believe is that most rosacea victims don't know much if anything about rosacea or that this is the skin condition that they suffer from.

Recent studies show the frequency of rosacea has been growing by leaps and bounds as the baby boomer generation arrives at the most susceptible ages, 30-50 years of age. Furthermore, a recently conducted Gallup survey discovered that 78 percent of Americans are unaware of this skin condition. The Gallup findings also disclosed that they did not know how to recognize the skin disorder and what the next step might be.

However, , can lead to serious social, psychological, and occupational problems for those affected by acne rosacea, particularly if left untreated. Recent studies performed by the National Rosacea Society have ascertained that nearly three quarters of acne rosacea sufferers expounded that this skin problem had lowered their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Regrettably, the cause of acne rosacea is unknown. While there is also no known cure, support is now available that can assist in controlling the signs and symptoms of this emotionally disruptive skin condition.
