Rosacea
Stinging or Burning Skin - A stinging or
burning sensation of the skin may occur on the face. A
feeling of itching or tightness is also a possible sign of
rosacea.
Irritation of the Eyes - Rosacea and
irritated eyes are a common ocurrence with rosacea
sufferers. An individual’s eyes may become irritated
and appear bloodshot or watery. This condition is known
as ocular rosacea. In severe cases, the eyelids may
become swollen and red, with the development of sties a
distinct possibility. In the worst of cases, corneal

Red Plaques - The development of raised red
patches, or plaques, may occur while the surrounding skin

cause the facial skin to swell.
Thickening of the Skin - A condition most
commonly experienced on the nose, excess tissue will develop
causing a thickening of the skin. This is most often seen
in males and is called rhinophyma.
Other Signs - The above signs and symptoms
are not restricted to development on an individual’s
face. These conditions may also be experienced on the
chest, neck, scalp and ears.
