Rosacea Pictures - Before And After IPL Treatments

You may not have heard about one of the new rosacea treatments - intense pulsed light (IPL). This laser treatment is used to treat facial redness, flushing, and reduce the breakouts that are generally associated with rosacea. The IPL treatments are promising with rosacea pictures showing dramatic improvement in redness and flushing (see video) after a number of treatments.

Study Shows Promising Results For IPL Rosacea Treatments

In one study, research was conducted with 32 patients undergoing between 1 to 7 treatments with IPL. These rosacea sufferers were evaluated in a clinical setting with pictures of rosacea before and after being documented. Also, these same individuals were asked to complete a detailed questionnaire regarding their personal response to the IPL treatment.

What appear to be very promising results:

83% of the subjects had reduced redness,

75% indicated reduced flushing and improved skin texture,

and 64% noted fewer breakouts.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Also good news was that reported complications from these treatments were reported as minimal and transitory. So, based on the limited subject size, it would appear that intense pulsed light treatments may be an effective rosacea treatment for the symptoms of rosacea and should be monitored closely for further evidence to support these claims.
